Apparently this plan has been reversed 4 times, once with each new director. Hopefully Griffin will maintain his position long enough to see this through. Hubble being currently our best shot at finding another place to live I'd hate to see it become one more piece of space rubbish circling the globe until it's orbit finally deteriorates enough to send it crashing into the atmosphere.
